Safety

Player Safety

Greenville Hockey takes player safety very serious. We want your children to experience the sport in the safest way possible. All of our coaches are trained on how to teach the correct way to use body contact in the game. Body checking begins at U14 age group, and the goal of checking is to gain possession of the puck. If a player is injured during Greenville Hockey function whether that be during a game, practice, or another team function, an injury report must be filed.

Steadman Hawkins Clinic

To enable an efficient way for our children to get sports medicine care, Greenville Hockey has built a relationship with the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas, part of Prisma Health. The Steadman Hawkins group is nationally known for their exceptional knowledge of sports medicine and orthopaedic coverage. The group also has a number of specialists with additional training of management of concussed athletes.

This partnership will allow our players to get seen by these sports medicine specialists in an efficient manner and ensure they recieve the best care our region has to offer. While injuries are rare we want to makes sure our kids have access to the best.
